QA Tester (Manual Testing & Business Discovery)
Location: Lewisville, TX - onsite 2 days/week

About the Role:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and intellectually curious QA Tester to join our client's growing team. This individual will play a key role in manual testing efforts across various products, ranging from HR systems (e.g., Workday integrations) to supply chain applications and payment processing systems.
You will be responsible for hands-on test case writing, executing test plans, working closely with business users for requirements discovery, and supporting end-to-end testing efforts including UAT, data validation, and API integration testing.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with business users, product owners, and developers to understand requirements and convert them into epics, user stories, features, and acceptance criteria.
- Write clear, concise, and comprehensive manual test cases and test scenarios based on business requirements and user stories.
- Perform functional, regression, UAT (User Acceptance Testing), data testing, and API integration testing.
- Participate in discovery sessions with stakeholders to gain deep understanding of business processes and testing needs.
- Track and manage test execution, identify defects, and work closely with development teams for resolution.
- Ensure full traceability from requirements through to test execution and defect logging.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in QA processes and best practices.
- Be flexible in testing different products, such as:
- HR systems, including Workday integrations
- Supply chain management applications
- Payment and transaction processing systems
- 3+ years of experience in manual QA testing, preferably in enterprise or SaaS environments.
- Proven experience writing test cases, test plans, and executing manual tests.
- Solid understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
- Experience with API testing (e.g., using Postman, Swagger).
- Experience in data testing – validating data accuracy, integrity, and transformation logic.
- Familiarity with UAT coordination and test sign-off procedures.
- Ability to write epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria based on business inputs.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; driven by intellectual curiosity and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Workday, supply chain, or payment systems a plus.
- Nice to Have:
Exposure to QA tools like Jira, TestRail, or Zephyr. - Familiarity with SQL and ability to write queries for data validation.
