Contract Role

The Release Train Engineer (RTE) is a servant leader and Agile coach for the Agile Release Train (ART).

This role is responsible for facilitating ART events, driving continuous improvement, managing risks, and ensuring smooth feature delivery across all teams within the SAFe framework.

Responsibilities:

• SAFe Execution & Facilitation: Stand up, launch, and optimize the Agile Release Train (ART) while facilitating key SAFe events, including PI Planning, System Demos, and Inspect & Adapt workshops.
• Coaching & Mentorship: Coach Agile teams, Scrum Masters, and Product Owners in SAFe principles, Agile practices, and continuous improvement mindsets.
• Jira & Tooling Administration: Configure, customize, and maintain Jira Align and Jira boards to track epics, features, dependencies, and team capacity across the ART.
• Status Reporting & Executive Communication: Design and present regular status reports, progress metrics, and executive summaries in PowerPoint for leadership and stakeholders.
• Dependency & Risk Management: Track and manage cross-team dependencies, escalate impediments, and manage risks using the ROAM model to keep delivery on track.
• Metrics & Governance: Drive relentless improvement by tracking key performance indicators, cycle time, predictability metrics, and team velocity.

Qualifications:

• Proven minimum of 5 years of experience acting as an RTE in a medium- or large-scale enterprise environment.
• Strong expertise standing up and scaling Agile Release Trains using the SAFe framework.
• Advanced proficiency in Jira, Jira Align, and creating executive-level reporting in PowerPoint.
• Deep knowledge of Product Owner and Scrum Master roles to provide targeted coaching.
• SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) or SPC certification is a must.
