Owns the design, build, and maintenance of Workday Accounting Center (AC) workflows and Workday Reporting used across GL, A/P, A/R, Fixed Assets, Corporate Accounting, and Financial Reporting.

Responsible for the ownership and maintenance of complex AC configuration, serves as the senior technical resource for AC on the team, and partners with accounting operations and IT to keep AC-driven journal processes complete, accurate, auditable, and scalable.

Engages with Prism Analytics to support upstream data feeding Accounting Center. Also acts as the liaison between the business and the Workday COE on business process updates, translating business requirements into technical specifications and overseeing testing through implementation.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and build of Accounting Center models, including Data Sources, Enrichment logic, Journal Templates, and Data Change Tasks, for new and existing accrual and journal processes

• Serve as the senior escalation point for AC configuration issues and complex Enrichment logic (worktag mapping, field transformation, joins, validation)

• Work with Prism Analytics tables to support AC data intake; validate and troubleshoot upstream data quality issues, coordinating with IT or the Workday COE on pipeline-level fixes

• Design and maintain Workday custom reports (advanced, matrix, composite) and calculated fields supporting month-end close and management reporting

• Evaluate existing AC processes (data prep, configuration sequencing, date-prompt entry, integration launches) and determine optimization paths at the request of leadership

• Gather business requirements for Workday business process updates (e.g., procure-to-pay), translate them into technical specifications for the Workday COE or third-party consultants, and oversee testing and implementation to confirm all requirements are met before go-live

• Own UAT for business process changes, including test script development, coordinating business-side testers, and sign-off on test coverage prior to go-live

• Draft end-user communications and job aids for business process changes to support adoption across impacted teams

• Document current-state and future-state business processes to support requirements handoff to the COE or consultants

• Own process documentation, including dependency mapping and single-point-of-failure risk assessments, for leadership and audit visibility

• Provide support and troubleshooting for AC-driven accrual and journal processes (e.g., accruals and sales journals)

• Write plain-language process summaries for non-technical stakeholders and auditors, separate from technical configuration documentation

• Mentor team members on AC configuration and Workday Reporting best practices

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience with Workday Financials, including hands-on work in Accounting Center configuration

• Strong understanding of Workday data model concepts (worktags, business objects, calculated fields) and Workday Reporting tools

• Working knowledge of Prism Analytics dataset structures as they relate to AC data ingestion

• Demonstrated ability to independently scope and build complex AC configuration with minimal oversight

• Strong analytical and documentation skills, with the ability to translate technical processes for non-technical audiences

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field

• Familiarity with Workday Business Process Framework and configuration (condition rules, routing, approval chains)
• Experience leading or heavily participating in UAT cycles for ERP changes

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into functional or technical specifications

• Exposure to accrual accounting concepts

• CPA, CPA candidate, or equivalent accounting background a plus, not required
